Monthly Archives: November 2010

Napoleon Quote

“I know men; and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between him and every other person in the world, there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded his empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for him.”

Read this in my development time on Wednesday afternoon.

P.S.

Just need to point out that although “To Get Started” says November 10, it was actually written on November 9th at 9:29pm.  Wordpress must be on east coast time.

To Get Started

I’m already out of foolproof ideas
so don’t ask me how to get started
it’s all uncharted

Things that made today happy:

1.  Listening to Sara Bareilles’ new cd on the way home.   Lyrics of one song above.  I tried to attach the song to this post, but I must not be clever enough for that.

2.  Getting a package from home containing my November Real Simple and a piggy potholder.  Pig Sooie!  Now for finding a place of honor on which to hang it…

3.  Buying new pens and colorful magnets at Walmart.  So many words will be written with fresh, black ink!

Morning Promise

Can you see it?  This morning as I walked back to my apartment, this rainbow was shining over the city in a perfect arch.  It got me thinking about promises and about sharing this moment, because I always want to share beauty when I find it.  Those thoughts combined made me think my failure at blogging :(.  So here is my morning promise:  For the next two weeks (until my birthday, hooray hooray!) I am going to post something everyday.  And you can keep me accountable.  Because I want to be disciplined in this.
